The idea of “Fashion misfits” is to redefine beauty standards and open up a platform to encourage unconventional aesthetics. Special people have been an ignored part of our society for the longest and there is a need to explore the versatile interpretations of beauty and be more accepting to all kinds of people. With the help of this project, we’d like to create a space in the fashion and advertising industry, ultimately to open channels catering to special people as well, so that they can find a way to fashionably express themselves and become role models to our society too.

This is a project based on a quote by John Green “The marks humans leave are too often scars.”
The idea came from one of my low phases as an artist. I studied my feelings intensely to realise that we as humans must open our hearts to every experience it can take, give whatever it takes make other happy because that’s the only way to learn, gain wisdom and fill our souls.
But the downside of being a giver, is to accept your scarred heart back from people who mistreat it, mend it with time and send it out again, to learn.
For the series, I invited acquaintances or people I met in the metro to my studio to document this feeling of being scarred. The photos were made over a period of 12months.
